God has blessed us with three wonderful children Leah, Kara, and John II. I hold both a Bachelor's Degree and Masters of Divinity from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary in New Orleans, LA.
Student Pastor/Pastoral Assistant
I was born and raised in Cleveland, AL. I was saved at 15 years old and was called to ministry at 18 years old. I married my best friend, Jordan, September 7, 2013. On November 30, 2017, our world changed forever when our son, Andrew Bearett Brakefield was born into this world. I came on staff at Bethel on Easter Sunday of 2018. I have an Associate in Science from Wallace State Community College-Hanceville. Bachelor Degree in Interdisciplinary Studies minor Biblical Studies.
I was born in Dallas, Texas, and moved to Birmingham, Alabama, at 5 years old. I am the oldest of four girls. I met my wonderful husband to be, Sam Latham, and shortly after we were married. We felt the intense pain of losing two children during pregnancies, but The Lord used those heartbreaks to bring me to Himself. I was saved at 27 years old, baptized, and The Lord graciously allowed us to have five amazing children over the next ten years. The journey from toddlers to teenagers to young adults has been the most wonderful, challenging, and treasured time of my life, and I’m so grateful to have shared that with my Bethel church family of 20 years. Since March of 2010, I have served as Children’s Director, and I still can’t believe I get to teach, work with, and share the love of God with these sweet children. I try to parent and minister using the principles of Ephesians 6:4 to “bring them up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord,” and the Great Commission in Matthew 28:19-20.
